VIVOSUN AeroLight Wing AW400 — Unavailable Selection

Historical equipment/arrangement record. The September 15 display uses four wooden tables with the installed AW200 + AeroLight 240 W. Table placement and coverage drawings below do not describe that current arrangement.

Superseded September 11, 2026: the owner reports the AW400 is sold out and has ordered the new AeroLight 240 W to use beside the existing AW200, with another E25. The two-light pair was installed September 13. The AW400 was not recorded as received or installed. Use that linked record for the current equipment and mounting plan.

The remaining sections preserve the September 10 AW400 proposal, after the Amazon AW400SE cancellation. The seller listing specifies Samsung 301H EVO diodes, UVA, and far-red; the owner reported about $70 extra. Those specifications belong to the unavailable AW400, not the installed 240 W. The open room end and removal of the two-foot return reflector remain current; the single-fixture coverage and installation plan below are historical.

Exact Model and Manufacturer Specifications

VIVOSUN's AeroLight manual explicitly includes VSAW400. Its specifications support the approximately 26 × 26-inch footprint:

Item Published information and source
Fixture dimensions 26 × 26.4 × 2.2 inches / 66 × 67 × 5.6 cm
Weight 16.82 lb / 7.63 kg
Rated input power 400 W
Spectrum Tunable full spectrum; white, 660 nm deep red, 730 nm far-red, 450 nm blue, and 395 nm UVA are listed
Spectrum modes Seedling, Veg, and Flower through GrowHub and the VIVOSUN app; fixture was not installed
White LED identification Samsung 301H EVO in the selected LED Grow Lights Depot listing; the manufacturer manual identifies Samsung without the diode suffix
Panels Two angle-adjustable wings; the collection plan uses them fully flat
Published growing area 4 × 4 ft tent in the manufacturer's application table
Control GrowHub E25 through Type-C; compatible E42-series controllers are also listed
Published dimming App: 25–100% and off; controller presets: 25%, 50%, 75%, 100%, off

The footprint is roughly twice the panel area of the manual's 26 × 13-inch AW200, and matches the canceled AW400SE's listed dimensions. The model swap therefore retains the existing broad placement plan. Equal dimensions do not establish equal intensity or distribution at each plant.

What the Proposed Upgrade Changed

  • Tunable spectrum and UVA: the AW400 manual documents both, including UVA in its Flower-mode description. The manual does not establish an independently scheduled UVA channel, so no separate UVA timer is assumed.
  • Far-red is shared: the AW400SE manual also lists 730 nm far-red. Far-red alone is not a feature gained by this switch.
  • Samsung 301H EVO: the selected seller listing explicitly names these diodes. This identifies the advertised configuration; no whole-fixture efficacy advantage or electricity saving has been calculated from the diode name.
  • Same planned footprint, heavier fixture: the AW400 manual lists 16.82 lb, compared with 12.5 lb for the canceled SE model. The mount note uses the AW400 figure; verify the supplied fixture label before installation.

For this collection, the extra cost buys spectrum choices while keeping the intended wider display. It does not establish that these cacti and succulents need UVA or will grow better because it is present. Keep the species' light needs and actual exposure as the basis for placement. The roughly $70 premium is owner-reported, not a current retail-price comparison.

September 10 Placement Proposal

This September 10 proposal used the earlier 30-pot arrangement. The current placement guide records the later four-table display. In the proposal's bird's-eye view:

  • Left: open room-facing end; the two-foot return panel comes out.
  • Top: the existing Diamond Mylar divider stays.
  • Bottom: the uncovered white wall stays.
  • Right: the north-facing window beyond the round glass table; the owner reports weak supplementary daylight.

The intended broad light area covers all 24 wooden-table pots and roughly the nearer half of the glass table. The two wooden tops form a nominal 16 × 26-inch rectangle, with four columns and six rows. The glass table remains 24 inches across, with the square wooden shared succulent box and five other containers. No replacement table or new reflector is part of this setup.

The wood plus half the glass diameter spans about 28 inches before gaps. The fixture itself is about 26 inches across, so its physical outline is not the boundary of useful light. Light spreading beyond the panels makes the intended coverage plausible, but the advertised tent area does not verify uniform exposure in this open room. Illustrations show the intended growing area schematically; they are not measured PPFD maps.

Keep high-light plants in clear lamp exposure, softer-light plants toward the perimeter, and the money tree on the outer glass side. Ming Thing moves to the wooden grid's open-left corner, R1C1, as the candidate for gentler exposure. That corner is still under the broader light; its position alone does not establish bright indirect conditions. The plant's ongoing need stays I.

September 10 Program and Installation Record

Record Status
Last reported installed fixture AW200 with tunable spectrum, reported September 9
Last AW200 program 60%, 13.25 hours, including quarter-hour sunrise/sunset transitions; exact clock times and ramp allocation unrecorded
Replacement fixture AW400, selected September 10 but unavailable September 11; not installed
AW400 intensity and clearance Not set or measured; the 60% and 18-inch records belong to the earlier AW200 setup
AW400 timer The 13.25-hour day was a planning reference; no AW400 program was installed
Spectrum selection Tunable Seedling / Veg / Flower; actual selected mode unrecorded
Reflectors Divider Mylar retained; two-foot room-end panel removed from the plan

Do not copy 60% as though it preserves exposure: the replacement has a different rated power and distribution. The proposal left acclimation to observation rather than prescribing another ramp schedule. The AW400 was not installed; no intensity or clearance was recorded for it. Existing canopy fans and their independent controller paths remain part of the setup.

The new fixture is listed at 16.82 lb, so check the existing mount and hangers against that load during the swap. Keep the wider boards clear of the camera view and fan paths. Enjoyable viewing and ordinary access are design requirements.
