Deminuta echeveria — archived plan

Archived September 20, 2026. Seller cancellation confirmed September 21; no charge. This plant was never received. The September 19 botanical research and proposed care remain here as an abandoned plan, outside the active collection. See the old-plan overview.

  • Former inventory allocation: Succulent-13 — seller-labeled Echeveria setosa var. deminuta
  • Physical-label allocation: none — withdrawn
  • Tracker allocation: none — withdrawn
  • Status: Archived — never received; canceled 2026-09-21
  • Visual description: The seller thumbnail depicts a cluster of small blue-green rosettes with fine pale hairs; it depicts the intended plant rather than an owned specimen.
  • Interesting fact: “Deminuta” is a published botanical variety of Echeveria setosa, not merely a descriptive nickname for a small starter.
  • Identification: seller-labeled variety; plant never received
  • Ordered from: The Succulent Cult through Amazon; order screenshot supplied 2026-09-19
  • Order status: Seller cancellation confirmed 2026-09-21; no charge. Former estimated delivery: October 1, 2026.
  • Advertised container: Seller lists a rooted starter in a 2-inch nursery pot
  • Former proposed pot: Owner-designated shared decorated Amazon Basics 8-inch white polypropylene pot with drainage, in Molly's Succulent Mix

The decorated pot was a separate purchase. Its later use is described in the equipment inventory.

Names and identity

Kind Name
Exact seller wording Echeveria Setosa Deminuta
Botanical interpretation Echeveria setosa var. deminuta J.Meyrán
Family Crassulaceae
Native range of the named variety Oaxaca, Mexico

Kew accepts this variety and places it in the dry shrubland/desert flora of Oaxaca. This is the botanical interpretation of the seller's name.

Former shared-container plan

The abandoned shared-pot plan grouped Cubic Frost, Coppertone, Deminuta, and Ruby Slippers in one decorated eight-inch pot. Nanouk was planned separately.

Proposed care — archived research

Topic Practical starting approach
Light Give the small rosettes an unobstructed view of the fixture rather than burying them behind taller components. The owner reports approximately 18–22 estimated DLI in the intended table area; this is not a confirmed reading at the planned plant's height.
Water Use the whole planter's dry-down and the watering strategy. A small rosette does not need an independent splash while the shared root volume remains wet.
Mix and planting Owner-selected Molly's Succulent Mix in the decorated 8-inch drainage pot. Keep the crown and lowest live leaves clear of buried dressing.
Space Leave visible room around this shorter component so it can be observed and does not become hidden as its companions expand.
Handling Avoid brushing the rosette or compressing it between larger plants during weighing. Move and weigh the container as one assembly.

NC State's broader Echeveria guidance supports bright conditions and a well-drained medium. Check exposure at the short rosettes themselves when arranging a future planting.

Reference watch points

  • For a future purchase, compare the nursery label and leaf hairs with the intended small-rosette form.
  • Watch short rosettes for stretching or shade as taller neighbors expand.
  • Separate plants if crowding or different watering needs make a shared arrangement unsuitable.
