AzaMax insecticide guide
A concentrate for foliar treatment or pest-specific soil drenches. The owned General Hydroponics GH2045, 4 fl oz bottle contains 1.2% azadirachtin, EPA 71908-1-81268.
Best fit
A flexible option for an identified pest on indoor ornamentals. AzaMax reduces feeding and interferes with pest development; assess changing pest activity and new damage rather than expecting every insect to drop immediately. The manufacturer describes foliar and root-zone applications and emphasizes reaching leaf undersides and crevices. Product information
Label targets include aphids, mealybugs, whiteflies, scales, thrips, spider mites, and fungus-gnat larvae. Foliar treatment and soil drenching are separate methods; choose by where the pest lives. Package label
Foliar use
- Identify the affected plant and inspect nearby pots. Photograph the pest and mark the areas to recheck.
- Wear chemical-resistant gloves. Test a small area first; the label notes that treatment can reduce waxy bloom.
- The label's lower foliar range is 0.32–1.0 fl oz per US gallon. Select the rate for pest pressure using its foliar table; measure concentrate, never estimate by capfuls.
- Mix with water, cover pest hiding places, and re-agitate after standing. Use prepared spray within 24 hours. Label
For this collection, examine areoles and leaf joints as well as broad leaf surfaces. Keep a treatment note with the dilution and plant ID so the next inspection compares the same locations.
Fungus-gnat drench
The soil-drench directions specify 1 tablespoon per US gallon of water for fungus gnats: the 0.4% product dilution. Apply 1 pint of finished mixture per gallon of soil, avoiding excessive leaching. This is not the hydroponic recipe. Label
For Lithops and split rock, first decide whether a drench fits the current dry cycle. Their shared shelf does not make them part of another pot's watering or treatment. Trap catches are a useful inspection prompt, not a dose calculation.
Recheck and repeat
The label describes 7–10-day foliar intervals and 2–3 drenches at 10–14-day intervals, with separate high-pressure directions. Follow the selected method for an active pest problem; these are not a standing collection-wide calendar. Label
